The Maryland, South Carolina and Stanford women's college basketball teams each put two players on Monday's John R. Wooden Award Late Season Top 20 list.
Junior Aliyah Boston, the front-runner for 2021-22 national player of the year honors, and senior Destanni Henderson have guided the Gamecocks to the No. 1 ranking throughout the season and help headline the list.
Junior Haley Jones and sophomore Cameron Brink of defending national champion Stanford joined Maryland's Ashley Owusu and Angel Reese among the honorees.
Kentucky senior Rhyne Howard, a two-time SEC Player of the Year and the projected 2022 No. 1 WNBA draft pick, is among seven seniors on the list, which also included reigning Wade Trophy winner NaLyssa Smith of Baylor.
DePaul forward Aneesah Morrow, who is averaging 20.9 PPG and 13.4 RPG, is the only freshman.
UConn sophomore Paige Bueckers, the 2021 John R. Wooden Award winner, was among those trimmed from January's Midseason Top 25. Bueckers suffered a tibial plateau fracture in her left knee in December, has played just six games and isn't expected to return until mid-February after a Dec. 13 surgery.
Tennessee junior Jordan Horston was the only player on Monday's list who was not included among January's candidates.
The Wooden Award is given annually to the top women's college basketball player in the country.
