Sharp-shooting former Iowa State Cyclones guard Aubrey Joens to transfer to Oklahoma Sooners

Iowa State and Oklahoma were the top two 3-point shooting teams in Big 12 women's basketball this past season. But one of the Cyclones' former guards is transferring to join the Sooners.

Aubrey Joens, who made 62 3-pointers and shot 42.5 percent from behind the arc this past season as a sophomore, announced on social media Friday she has committed to Oklahoma.

The Cyclones were second in Division I in 3-pointers per game at 10.2, while the Sooners were ninth at 9.3. Joens now will be part of a Sooners backcourt led by Taylor Robertson, who was first in Division I with 124 3-pointers this season and is returning for her super-senior season.

Aubrey Joens played her first two college seasons with her older sister Ashley Joens, a WBCA All-American who tied for 12th in Division I this season with 91 3-pointers. Ashley is returning to Iowa State for her super-senior season in 2022-23, so the Joens sisters will face off against each other as Iowa State and Oklahoma play twice during the regular season.
