MLB Rumor Central: Jesse Hahn on shaky ground in A's rotation?

It has been a rocky spring for Jesse Hahn, and it might cost the right-hander a spot in the Oakland Athletics' rotation.

Hahn, who was on the disabled list for much of the second half of last season because of a forearm strain, has a 10.97 ERA in four Cactus League starts and is “potentially out of the mix” in a rotation shakeup, reports Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle.

If the A’s decide Hahn needs some minor league work, that would likely open a rotation spot for Felix Doubront, who had pitched effectively before allowing seven runs last Thursday. Doubront is scheduled to pitch again Tuesday in what looks like a very important outing for him. If Doubront moves up from the bullpen, that would leave a bullpen opening for rookie righthander Ryan Dull, who has a 0.54 WHIP in 9 1/3 spring innings.

One of the wild cards in the rotation is free-agent signee Henderson Alvarez, who underwent shoulder surgery in July and is expected to join the A's rotation in May.
