Stony Brook's Warney is America East POY

Stony Brook forward Jameel Warney has been named America East Player of the Year, for the second season in a row.

The 6-foot-8 junior averaged a double-double, at 16.3 points and 11.4 rebounds per game. He also averaged 2.4 blocks per game, leading the conference in all three categories.

Stony Brook (21-10, 12-4 A-East) finished tied for second in the conference along with Vermont, three games behind Albany. The Seawolves, still seeking their first-ever NCAA Tournament bid, are the No. 3 seed in the America East Tournament, and will host Binghamton on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the quarterfinals.
