          Jeter patch: Good, bad or indifferent?

          The team that refuses to put players' names on the backs of its jerseys will soon install a uniform patch honoring one of its active players.

          Derek Jeter is getting that honor starting Sunday, when the Yankees pay tribute to his farewell season before that day's game against the Royals. The Bombers will wear the patch for the remainder of the regular season.

          We here at ESPNNewYork.com have mixed feelings about this. Some of us feel it's a tribute to a worthy ballplayer. Others feel it's simply a money grab. Still others believe it's a troubling break with tradition -- awkward at best, blasphemous at worst. (Still, as a reader correctly points out, they did it last year for Mariano Rivera, and there seemed to be less of an outcry.)

          But what we want to know is what you, the fans, think.
