Beginning in June and continuing into the all-important July recruiting period, Jeff Goodman and Jeff Borzello will take a look at the summer checklists for the top 50 programs in college basketball, as revealed in Goodman's preseason ballot published in late May. Goodman and Borzello will show you each roster the way the coaches are looking at it, projecting graduation/NBA casualties and areas of need ahead of 2016-17. The big summer task for Tom Crean and the Hoosiers: landing heralded center Thon Maker.
12. Gonzaga Bulldogs
With Kyle Wiltjer, Przemek Karnowski, and possibly Domantas Sabonis set to depart after this season, Mark Few will target front-line help this summer.
13. Villanova is selective about its recruiting targets and squad size but might be resigned to losing freshman phenom Jalen Brunson after a one-and-done season.
14. The Spartans should have a balanced roster heading into 2016-17 but will need to identify some reinforcements on the perimeter.
15. Michigan's roster spots are mostly accounted for ahead of 2016-17, but a point guard to replace Spike Albrecht is a priority.
16. Arizona Wildcats
Arizona has a strong group led by Allonzo Trier coming in this season, but Sean Miller will need to follow it up with another quality class ahead of 2016-17.
17. With Damian Jones likely to bolt to the NBA after 2015-16, Kevin Stallings is targeting frontcourt help this summer.
18. Bo Ryan's 2016 departure will change the narrative around Wisconsin on the recruiting trail this summer, though the Badgers' targets are expected to remain the same.
19. SMU Mustangs
As Larry Brown & Co. eye a future without Nic Moore and Markus Kennedy, questions loom about the outcome of an NCAA investigation.
20. UConn Huskies
With graduate transfers Sterling Gibbs and Shonn Miller departing in 2016, and others potentially leaving, Kevin Ollie could be looking at a six-man recruiting class for 2016-17.
21. Texas A&M Aggies
An increasingly talented Aggies roster could take another leap if talented players such as De'Aaron Fox come to College Station.
22. Can Matt Painter's recent success on the recruiting trail continue? The Boilermakers will need to find replacements for A.J. Hammons, Rapheal Davis, Johnny Hill, and (potentially) freshman phenom Caleb Swanigan.
23. Butler Bulldogs
With coveted center Joey Brunk already committed, Chris Holtmann will focus on other top targets, such as ESPN 100 point guard C.J. Walker.
24. Utah Utes
With many of the players who helped fuel their resurgence set to depart, the Utes need a productive summer on the recruiting trail.
25. Dayton Flyers
Fresh off five NCAA tournament wins in two seasons, Archie Miller is in search of a big man to keep the momentum going.
With key pieces of what could be the Broncos' third NCAA tournament team in four seasons set to depart, Leon Rice & Co. are seeking reinforcements.
Xavier will lose at least two contributors -- and Chris Mack might have to prepare for the defection of Jalen Reynolds to the next level.
After securing the services of V.J. King last week, Rick Pitino will turn his attention to backcourt targets such as Markelle Fultz and Alterique Gilbert.
Mick Cronin has a major summer challenge, with six open scholarships to fill ahead of 2016-17.
30. Baylor Bears
Scott Drew will have to replace a four-man senior class and is casting a wide net to find his next group.
31. LSU Tigers
After landing Ben Simmons last summer, Johnny Jones and the Tigers are targeting a number of new elite-level prospects.
32. West Virginia Mountaineers
With Devin Williams uncertain to return for 2016-17, Bob Huggins will look for a big man and a wing to help fill the potential void.
With a group of seniors departing and Malik Pope possibly leaving early, Steve Fisher could have as many as six scholarships to fill.
34. Syracuse Orange
Though scholarship reductions will impact Syracuse's summer, the Orange are still aiming high for the likes of Tyus Battle and others.
35. Georgetown Hoyas
With the D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera era set to end, John Thompson III is targeting multiple scoring point guards for his offense.
36. Oregon Ducks
The Ducks lost out on Jamal Murray but still have some high-profile targets in play for the 2016 class.
37. Memphis Tigers
With a big senior class set to depart, an important summer for Josh Pastner and the Tigers has arrived.
The Fighting Irish are set up well in the backcourt, but Mike Brey must ID some frontcourt talent to help beyond 2015-16.
39. Florida Gators
Michael White has less pressure on him to build a class than most new coaches but still has some key targets on the summer trail.
40. BYU Cougars
The Cougars' situation is complicated because of the effect of Mormon missions on the roster, but Dave Rose still has one scholarship to award.
With Billy Donovan gone from the Sunshine State, Leonard Hamilton and Florida State have a chance to dominate the recruiting landscape.
42. Miami Hurricanes
The Canes will lose a big senior class after 2015-16, and Jim Larranaga could sign as many as six targets for 2016.
43. Texas Longhorns
Shaka Smart is off to a flying start in recruiting, and a big summer is on the horizon as the first-year Texas coach attempts to shape the program.
The Rams are expected to make a run at the A-10 title and an NCAA berth this season but need to look ahead to the post-E.C. Matthews era.
The Buckeyes already have power forward Derek Funderburk and center Micah Potter in the fold but are after at least two other elite-level recruits.
46. Georgia Bulldogs
Mark Fox has already found replacements for the backcourt of Kenny Gaines and Charles Mann, but signing Kobi Simmons or another elite prospect could truly transform the Bulldogs' 2016 class.
The Wolfpack are not done with the 2015 recruiting cycle -- Maverick Rowan and Greek center Georgios Papagiannis are still on the radar -- but point guard is the priority beyond next season.
48. UCLA Bruins
UCLA has its 2016 and 2017 classes virtually done, but Steve Alford continues to target a couple of elite prospects.
The Illini seek a point guard for 2016 and beyond, but will leave enough scholarship vacancies to court some in-state talent for 2017.
With the expected loss of Kris Dunn after this season, this is a critical summer recruiting period for the Friars.
