Vinesh Phogat pounced on her rivals to complete a hat-trick of CWG gold medals while Ravi Dahiya too went unchallenged as Indian wrestlers wrapped up their campaign with a rich haul of 12 medals, Saturday.
Vinesh became the first Indian woman wrestler to win three consecutive Commonwealth Games gold medals and the country, like the last edition, succeeded in winning medals in all 12 categories.
Overall, India have won six gold, one silver and five bronze medals.
In hockey, India beat South in a tough match and qualified for the final. Abhishek (20th minute), Mandeep Singh (28th) and Jugraj Singh (58th) scored for India, while South Africa's goals came from the sticks of Ryan Julius (33rd) and Mustapha Cassiem (59th).
India will play Australia for the gold medal match.
Reigning world champion Nikhat Zareen, Amit Panghal and Sagar Ahlawat were among four Indian boxers who entered the finals.
Nikhat stormed into the final of women's 50kg after outclassing England's Stubley Alfia Savannah 5-0. Panghal (51kg), too, displayed his class as he reached his second consecutive CWG final. In the penultimate bout of the day, Sagar earned a unanimous 5-0 victory over Nigeria's Ifeanyi Onyekwere to reach the gold medal contest. Nitu Ghanghas (48kg) also remained on course for a gold in her maiden appearance.
Debutant Jaismine Lamboria (60kg) won bronze as she went down to Gemma Paige Richardson of England via a 2-3 split verdict. Rohit Tokas also won a bronze medal in the men's welterweight category after going down to Zambia's Stephen Zimba in the semifinal by a split decision.
Avinash Sable became India's first male athlete to win a long distance medal at the Commonwealth Games with a silver in 3000m steeplechase and Priyanka Goswami also achieved a first while finishing on podium in a race walk event.
Sable broke his own national record on way to the silver while Goswami too clinched a medal of the same colour in the women's 10,000m race walk event on a productive day for India in the athletics competition.
Indian para table tennis player Bhavina Patel won a gold medal in the women's singles class 3-5. The 35-year-old from Gujarat, who had won a silver at Tokyo Paralympics, prevailed 12-10 11-2 11-9 over Nigeria's Ifechukwude Christiana Ikpeoyi to cap off a superb show at the quadrennial event.
Sonalben Manubhai Patel also gave India a medal, claiming a bronze in women's singles class 3-5.
India also clinches their second medal in lawn bowls competition at the Commonwealth Games as the men's fours team won a silver medal after losing to Northern Ireland in the final. The final score read 18-5 in favour of Northern Ireland.
The Indian team comprised Sunil Bahadur (lead), Navneet Singh (second), Chandan Kumar Singh (third) and Dinesh Kumar (skip).
