The Unicorns of Love will move onto the European Regional Finals after a 3-0 sweep over Fnatic. In the final round tomorrow, the UoL squad will take on Splyce for the last chance to qualify for the World Championships.
The most impressive takeaway from the current UoL gauntlet run is the team's success despite their lack of scrimmages; but it didn't help that Fnatic was sloppy from the start. Whether it was uncharacteristic feeding from its star mid player, Fabian "Febiven" Diepstraten or just ineffectiveness from Mateusz "Kikis" Szkudlarek, it was a mess.
The current Unicorns of Love are winning through kill prevention and early game preparation. Just like the playoffs and the regular summer split, picking up momentum early might not be the team's strength, but playing through the midgame is.
Whether it's through team fighting or objective pushing, it's been the same blueprint for success. For its matchup against Fnatic, the UoL lineup relied upon its AD carry, Kim "Veritas" Kyoung-min to sweep and bring the team one more series closer to the World Championships.
