Top lane showdown: SKT's Duke vs. Samsung's CuVee

The top lane of the League of Legends World Championship finals will give two overlooked South Korean players a chance to cement themselves as first-time champions.

Lee "Duke" Ho-seong, one of two SK Telecom T1 players without a World Championship win, has the opportunity to change that this weekend. Lee "CuVee" Seong-jin, one of the best players on the Samsung Galaxy squad, could make history on a team that has had the odds stacked against it.

CuVee has controlled the top lane during his time at Worlds, beating H2K star Andrei "Odoamne" Pascu and Cloud9's 2013 World Champion Jung "Impact" Eon-yeong in his playoff matchups. He has proven to be a formidable player, earning Riot's most valuable player award in his team's quarterfinal game.

While Duke isn't the star of SK Telecom T1, he has proven to be consistent when his team needs it. In his team's close series versus rival ROX Tigers, Duke had strong performances on Trundle, Jayce and Poppy.
