The Los Angeles Gladiators announced the addition of DPS player Ji-Hyeok "birdring" Kim on Wednesday.

The 20-year-old from South Korea spent the first two Overwatch League seasons with the London Spitfire, winning the championship in 2017 but being released by the team last month. Birdring began his professional career with Team KongDoo's Uncia and Panthera and had a brief stint with Cloud9 KongDoo before joining the Spitfire in 2017.

Birdring came up with his name by combining the words Bird and Ring as a nod to his role model Brandon "Seagull" Larned, a popular streamer who retired from competition following Season 1 of the Overwatch League.

Birdring is the third player added by the Gladiators this offseason, joining tank players Indy "Space" Halpern and Minseok "OGE" Son.

Los Angeles' roster currently stands at eight players after having parted with Chang-hoon "rOar" Gye, Joao Pedro "Hydration" Goes Telles, Guiun "Decay" Jang and Lane "Surefour" Roberts, who have each landed with different OWL teams.
