Modern Warfare 2 remaster leaked, reportedly releases Tuesday

According to a leak from the PlayStation store in Germany, the long-awaited remastered version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will drop Tuesday, March 31.

Released in 2009, the title received much acclaim from game critics and fans. A datamine into Season 3 of Modern Warfare revealed that the battle royale mode Warzone would be coming to the game, which proved accurate, as well as the remastered Modern Warfare 2.

The PlayStation store listing has since been removed, but had the following details, according to charlieintel.com:

  • A completely remastered Modern Warfare 2 campaign with improved textures, animations, physical rendering, HDR lighting, and more.

  • Cosmetics for Modern Warfare and Warzone

  • Two battle pass skip tiers

The most notable omission from the information of the remastered release is the lack of multiplayer mode; only the single-player campaign is available. According to IGN, multiplayer maps from MW2 will be added to the most recent Modern Warfare game at some point in time.

The March 31 release has an expected price point of $30 USD. A trailer has also been leaked.
