Call of Duty coaches poll: OpTic Gaming make big jump

Raise your hand if you predicted OpTic Gaming Los Angeles in the Florida home series final after beating the Toronto Ultra in the semifinals.

It was a wild weekend of Call of Duty League action that featured a series of unexpected results, including the New York Subliners sweeping their way into the semifinals. After losing their opening matchup to the Ultra on Friday, the Subliners won 3-0 against both Minnesota, a two-time home series finalist, and Florida, champion of the Dallas home series. Then, they nearly pulled off the upset against the Atlanta FaZe, losing 3-2.

It's a credit to the competitiveness of the league that by midseason, several of the teams that were lower in the standings early on now seem to be challenging the more established teams. As Arda Ocal wrote in our recap of the weekend, this was the "here comes a new challenger weekend" for the CDL.
