The ESPYS are going virtual this year on ESPN at 9 p.m. ET Sunday. There won't be a live red carpet for athletes and celebrities to stunt on, so instead let's take a look back at the most talked-about looks from ESPYS past.
Dwyane Wade began his 2019 Best Moment ESPY acceptance speech with this shoutout to his wife, Gabrielle Union: "Darling, you are amazing. You look incredible in this dress. I cannot wait until five years from now, when I get a chance to marry you again." Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP The U.S. Women's National Team made a stop on their 2019 Wold Cup victory tour to accept the ESPY for Best Team and flaunt their high-fashion side. Co-captain Megan Rapinoe once called fashion her "primary form of self-expression." Rich Fury/Getty Images Shaquem and Shaquill Griffin took every opportunity to show off the lining of their suit jackets at the 2018 ESPYS. That's because it was a shoutout to the St. Pete Nitro Track Club, which the twins formed in their hometown of St. Petersburg, Florida. Pittsburgh Steelers receiver JuJu Smith-Shuster and New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara showed off their fashion chops on the 2018 ESPYS red carpet. He even began selling fanny packs with his face on them on his website in April of that year. So yeah, of course he was going to wear a Gucci pack to the ESPYS. His bedazzled ESPYS look mirrored the crystal-covered costumes he wore in Pyeongchang. Tens across the board. Leave it to one of the greatest all-time extreme sports stars, Shaun White, to perfectly pull off the causally formal look. It's pretty much his annual ESPYS outfit, and we're OK with it. Kevin Mazur/Getty Images A button-down shirt tucked in the track pants? My dad has tried it and failed, but on 2017 ESPYS best male athlete, Russell Westbrook, it works. Jordan Murph/ESPN Images Michelle Obama surprised the 2017 ESPYS crowd when she walked out on stage to honor Special Olympics founder Eunice Kennedy Shriver with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award. It was her first public appearance since leaving the White House. Kevin Winter/Getty Images Lindsey Vonn, another perennial best dressed list-maker, told Hannah Storm on the 2017 red carpet that she loves to "spice it up" with her ESPYS looks. The youngest member of the Final Five gymnastics team that won 2016 team all-around gold, Laurie Hernandez, stepped out at the 2017 ESPYS in a full-length, ruffled gown with a flower detail on the shoulder, for style points. Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic Kevin Durant had quite an ESPYS night in 2017. He got roasted by host Peyton Manning, then won the award for best championship performance, and to top it all off, he took a picture with Issa Rae and Joel Embiid.
