Despite the noticeable lack of juice in Peyton Manning's throwing arm and the transition the Denver Broncos are undergoing in Gary Kubiak's offense, Demaryius Thomas is still a No.1 fantasy option at the wide receiver position.
Through two weeks, Thomas has hauled in 15 passes for 176 yards. And while the 6-foot-3, 229-pound matchup weapon has yet to find the end zone, the tape shows us he is still a nightmare for defensive backs in one-on-one situations as well as inside breaking routes regardless of the offensive game plan.
The question here, however, is will there be a noticeable drop-off in total fantasy production for Thomas this season?
During a stretch from 2012 to 2014, no receiver in the game scored more fantasy points in standard scoring leagues than Thomas. Over those three seasons, Thomas totaled 333 points, which was 23 more than the next man in line, Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant. How about explosive plays? Thomas was up near the top of the list also with 73 catches of 20 yards or more, good for second in that time frame to Detroit's Calvin Johnson.
Let's examine the Broncos' offense and point to the adjustments Manning can make to feed Thomas and fellow receiver Emmanuel Sanders the ball with more tempo and route concepts that cater to the quarterback.
