Few in the fantasy football world appear surprised that running back Joe Mixon, the second-round pick for the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2017 draft, has become a reliable, productive player. Mixon was a coveted pick in fantasy drafts this season, as if assured stardom awaited. On Sunday, Mixon topped 100 yards rushing for the second time in his young career, scored two touchdowns and achieved a career-best 28.8 PPR points, a breakout performance in a promising season of high-level performance. Then again, Mixon was not alone thriving in the 37-34, last-second win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Cincinnati's second-round pick from the 2016 draft is also developing into a strong fantasy asset, but wide receiver Tyler Boyd went unselected in most ESPN average live drafts this season. After all, when was the last time the Bengals boasted a second star wide receiver in the A.J. Green era? Well, the answer is never, but it is happening in 2018. Boyd delivered his best outing against the Buccaneers, catching nine passes for 138 yards and a touchdown, finishing with a cool 28.6 PPR points.
