John Brooks' new agent is confident that the U.S. national team defender will extend his contract at Hertha Berlin sometime soon.
Brooks, 22, has been out of action ever since returning with an injury from the U.S. team earlier this month. He has missed Hertha's Bundesliga wins over Stuttgart and FC Cologne, as well as the defeat at Wolfsburg sandwiched in between the home games.
Last week, local media in Berlin reported that the defender has switched agents amid ongoing contract talks with Hertha.
He had been under contract at Sports Total, which also represents Germany stars Mario Gotze, Toni Kroos and Marco Reus, but opted to join the Berlin-based agent Kadir Ozdogan.
It had been rumoured that the new agent could complicate matters for Hertha, who hope to prolong with Brooks until 2019.
But speaking to Sport Bild, Kadir Ozdogan reassured the capital club that Brooks wants to stay with the club through 2017, when his current deal at Hertha runs out.
"John would like to continue at Hertha, and extend his contract," Ozdogan said. "I think that it looks good."
