Yuto Nagatomo: Fans treated me like 'a criminal' after Napoli defeat

Inter Milan defender Yuto Nagatomo has said criticism from fans following Sunday's defeat to Napoli had made him feel like "a criminal."

The Japan international full-back's slip let in Jose Callejon to score the only goal of the game, and Inter's fans hit out on social media.

Nagatomo responded with a tweet of his own calling for a more balanced approach.

"In Italy, if you do well you are adored like a God and if you make a mistake, you are criticised and insulted like a criminal," he wrote.

"They have no morals and no respect for people. I am proud that, being a hard worker, I am able to work in this harsh environment where very few can cope.

"I have been here for seven years now and, besides, this gives me strength to look forward to the future."

Nagatomo, 30, has made almost 200 appearances for Inter since joining from Cesena in 2011 but only 12 of those have come this season.
