Goalkeeper Joe Hart considering Manchester City future - source

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart is considering his future at the Etihad after being dropped for the Premier League opener with Sunderland on Saturday, a source has told ESPN FC.

New City boss Pep Guardiola gave Argentine Willy Caballero the No. 1 spot in the 2-1 victory over Sunderland, with the England international relegated to the bench.

In the short-term, Hart will fight for his place though Everton and Spanish side Sevilla are both reportedly interested in signing the 29-year-old, while City have been linked with Barcelona duo Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Claudio Bravo.

City have been repeatedly linked with a move for Ter Stegen all summer and there have also been recent reports that the club are in advanced talks for his Camp Nou teammate Bravo.

However, Germany international Ter Stegen has sprained a ligament in his knee and Barca have yet to find out when he will return.

The Spanish side rotated the two keepers last season with Bravo playing La Liga and Ter Stegen featuring in the Copa del Rey and Champions League. Barca also have 27-year-old Jordi Masip, who has started just one game for the club.

Guardiola has said that Hart could return to the City starting XI for Tuesday's Champions League playoff first leg with Steaua Bucharest.

However, the manager wants a keeper who is comfortable with the ball at his feet and has also been linked with Portugal's Rui Patricio.

There are also questions over some other senior players at the Etihad after they were left out the 18-man matchday squad for the 2-1 win over Sunderland.

Yaya Toure, Wilfried Bony, Eliaquim Mangala, Samir Nasri and Jason Denayer were all missing and have been left out of the 21-man party that has flown to Bucharest.

City still have injured trio Vincent Kompany, Ilkay Gundogan and Leroy Sane to return to the squad while Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus will join up when his loan spell at Palmeiras ends in January.
