Racing Club midfielder Bruno Zuculini is on the brink of joining Manchester City after travelling to England for a medical, his club have said.
The 21-year-old Argentine has long been expected to sign for the Premier League champions, with Racing Club president Victor Blanco saying in February that he would be bound for City in the summer.
And Racing said on their official website: "The only player who was not present [at a training session] was Bruno Zuculini, who travelled to England to undergo a medical examination at Manchester City."
Zuculini, who was out of contract with Racing, will reportedly cost City around 1.5 million pounds.
The Argentina under-20 international will not require a work permit to play in England because he has an Italian passport.
City have already signed one midfielder this week, with Fernando arriving from Porto for 15 million euros. Meanwhile, the club have loaned 18-year-old winger Marcos Lopes to Lille for the season.
