OGC Nice have come wading into the ongoing Twitter spat between Jamie Carragher and their recent acquisition from Liverpool, one Mario Balotelli.
It all began when Carragher quipped that Nice had "overpaid" for Balotelli when the Italian striker joined them on a free transfer on deadline day.
Balotelli then responded in kind by calling his former Liverpool teammate a "bad player" but a "wonderful hater".
The argument then started anew this week when, asked by a fan for his parting thoughts on Balotelli leaving for Ligue 1, Carragher replied zestily:
I wish him well in getting the Ballon D'Or at Nice. https://t.co/qnlwCDInTi

Of course, Nice weren't going to take that kind of derogatory sarcasm lying down and duly answered Carragher with a pithy comeback -- throwing in a cheeky plug for their online club store in the process.
Hey, @Carra23, you look like a big SuperMario fan. You can order his jersey on our store ➡ https://t.co/rHrm09UL6b
Forza @FinallyMario ⚫ !

Okay chaps. You've had your fun. Can't we all just get along like adults from now on? Maybe time for everyone to move on and start thinking about how to win football matches, eh?
