New York Red Bulls have loaned Shaun Wright-Phillips to New York Red Bulls II -- the franchise's reserve team.
Wright-Phillips, who joined the Red Bulls from Queens Park Rangers last summer, has joined the American third-tier outfit alongside Gonzalo Veron.
The duo have made the move ahead of Red Bulls II's United Soccer League game against Harrisburg City Islanders on Thursday, with the senior side having the option of recalling them at any point during the Major League Soccer regular season.
The demotion marks the latest setback in the career of Wright-Phillips, 34 -- a player who won 36 caps for England and won the Premier League with Chelsea, while also representing Manchester City.

Wright-Phillips, who struggled to make an impact while at QPR, has started just one game for the Red Bulls this season.
Red Bulls II currently sit second in the USL Eastern Conference table, one point off leaders Louisville City FC, having played a game less.
