FC Dallas signed Brazilian forward Getterson on loan on Saturday.
Getterson, 25, scored five goals in 13 games for fourth-division club J. Malucelli in his native country last season.
Last month, he was signed on loan by Sao Paulo FC, but hours later the top-flight club were forced to cancel the deal after some tweets critical of the club that he wrote years ago resurfaced.
The striker hails from the same small town of Engenheiro Beltrao as New York Red Bulls midfielder Felipe.
