Tom Cleverley could be recalled to the England squad for the forthcoming friendlies against Germany and Brazil, sources close to Watford have told ESPN FC.
Midfielder Cleverley, who won the last of his 13 England caps in November 2013, is being considered by manager Gareth Southgate after an impressive start to the season with Watford.
The former Manchester United player has been ever-present in the Premier League, helping Marco Silva's side to eighth in the table.
Cleverley scored the winner against Arsenal last month, and sources told ESPN FC that Southgate has spoken to Watford officials about him.
Southgate is without Adam Lallana, Ross Barkley and Cleverley's Watford teammate Nathaniel Chalobah.
He recalled Manchester City's Fabian Delph for the first time in two years for last month's World Cup qualifiers against Slovenia and Lithuania, while the previously uncapped Harry Winks made his debut against Lithuania.
