Jameis Winston wins UA Game MVP

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Quarterback Jameis Winston was 8 of 9 for 178 yards and two touchdowns to lead Team Blur to a 49-16 victory over Team Highlight in the Under Armour All-America Game Thursday night.

Winston, who has committed to Florida State and was named the game's MVP, threw a 75-yard touchdown pass to Amari Cooper in the first quarter and a 16-yard score to Shaq Roland in the third.

Cooper, an Alabama commitment, added a 93-yard punt return in the fourth quarter as the Crimson Tide stole the night. Defensive back Cyrus Jones, who committed to Bama during the game, added a score on a 40-yard interception return and Landon Collins, the nation's top-rated safety, chose the Crimson Tide over LSU. The New Orleans-area prospect raised the ire of his mother, who was sitting next to him and clearly preferred the Tigers.

Cornerback Brian Poole had a 93-yard interception return in the second quarter for Team Blur and running back Randy Johnson had a 71-yard kick return that led to a Team Highlight touchdown in the third quarter.

Marvin Bracy, a Florida State commitment, made a beautiful one-handed touchdown catch of a pass from Zach Kline in the first half to give Blur a 13-3 lead. Tight end Jalen Cope-Fitzpatrick and wide receiver Davonte Neal scored the touchdowns for Team Highlight.

Johnson led all rushers with 50 yards on nine carries and Trey Griffey, son of Ken Griffey Jr., had two catches for 31 yards for Team Blur.

Channing Ward, who committed to Mississippi during the game, recorded two sacks and 3.5 tackles for loss. Noah Spence, an Ohio State commitment, had three sacks and four tackles for loss for Team Highlight.

Others who committed at the game were running back Wes Brown (Maryland) and defensive back Lucas Thompson (East Carolina).
