IUPUI has hired former Arizona point guard Jason Gardner as its coach, multiple sources told ESPN.com.
Gardner, 33, is from Indianapolis and has been on Josh Pastner's staff at Memphis for the past year. He was previously an assistant at Loyola-Chicago from 2011 to 2013.
Gardner starred at North Central High in Indianapolis in the late 1990s and at Arizona from 1999 to 2003.
He replaces Todd Howard, who was 26-70 in three seasons at the helm.
