Mathews told ESPN he hasn't made a decision on where he will go next season, but sources told ESPN that Gonzaga will be in the mix.
The 6-foot-4 Mathews averaged 13.5 points this past season and shot 42 percent from beyond the arc. He averaged 13.6 points as a sophomore and made 44 percent of his shots from 3-point range.
Cal lost Jaylen Brown early to the NBA draft along with senior point guard Tyrone Wallace, but the Bears brought back potential lottery pick Ivan Rabb -- and were expected to battle for one of the top spots in the Pac-12 with the return of wings Jabari Bird and Mathews.
