Merrimack guard Jordan Derkack, the Northeast Conference Player of the Year, plans to transfer, he told ESPN.

Derkack should officially appear in the transfer portal after he files the paperwork.

A 6-foot-5 shooting guard from New Jersey, Derkack took a huge step forward as a sophomore, averaging 17.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. He hit the 20-point mark 11 times this season, including a pair of 30-point performances and 23 points and 10 rebounds against Long Island in the NEC tournament.

Derkack helped lead Merrimack to back-to-back NEC regular-season championships and a conference tournament championship in 2023. The Warriors lost in the title game this season.

As a freshman, Derkack averaged 7.4 points and 4.0 rebounds per game.
