The Oakland Athletics and reliever John Axford have agreed to a two-year contract worth $10 million, according to ESPN's Jim Bowden and multiple reports.
Axford is the fourth relief pitcher acquired this offseason by Oakland, which also signed Ryan Madson and made trades to add Marc Rzepczynski and Liam Hendriks.
Axford, 32, appeared in 60 games with the Colorado Rockies last season, going 4-5 with a 4.20 ERA and 25 saves.
Axford led the National League with 46 saves as a member of the Milwaukee Brewers in 2011 and also briefly served as the Cleveland Indians' closer in 2014. The right-hander has 141 saves in parts of seven seasons in the majors.
