Toronto Blue Jays left-hander Jaime Garcia has been activated from the 10-day disabled list and will start Saturday against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Garcia, 31, has been sidelined since May 16 because of inflammation in his pitching shoulder. He has struggled in his first season with the Blue Jays, going 2-3 with a 6.28 ERA in eight starts.
The Blue Jays optioned outfielder Dalton Pompey to Triple-A Buffalo in order to create a roster spot for Garcia.
