Minnesota Twins activate Jose Miranda off injured list

Minnesota Twins infielder Jose Miranda returned from his rehab assignment Saturday and was reinstated from the 10-day injured list.

Miranda missed the past nine games for the Twins with a low back strain. In two rehab games at Triple-A St. Paul, he went 3-for-6 with a double and two walks. His is batting .325 with 21 doubles, nine home runs, 43 RBIs and 35 runs in 76 games this season.

Miranda is a career .276 hitter with 27 home runs, 122 RBIs and 92 runs in 241 games.

In a corresponding move, the Twins optioned infielder Edouard Julien to Triple-A St. Paul. Julien, 25, hit .204 with seven home runs and 17 RBIs in 63 games this season, his second in the majors. Last season, he batted .263 with 16 homers and 37 RBIs in 109 games for the Twins.
