Who's got the edge? A look at the AL and NL All-Star starters based on WAR

The All-Star Game is about matchups -- top pitchers facing top sluggers, pairings seldom seen during the season. But some of the most enticing matchups are actually among the league's starting position players. Just look to the hot corner, where two of the game's brightest young stars will play. Little separates the Baltimore Orioles' Manny Machado and the Chicago Cubs' Kris Bryant, evidenced by a minuscule difference between the two players' wins above replacement through July 4.

So what about the rest? A glance through the starting lineups elicits some enticing comparisons. While the American League has an edge among outfielders, the National League has an advantage among infielders, at least according to WAR. Here's how all of the starting All-Stars stack up:
