What to make of Woodley vs. Burns? (0:49)

Brett Okamoto breaks down Tyron Woodley vs. Gilbert Burns as they prepare to face off at the UFC Apex Center on May 30 in Las Vegas. (0:49)

The UFC has announced its full lineup for a UFC Fight Night event on May 30, which is expected to take place at the company's Apex facility in Las Vegas.

UFC president Dana White confirmed a welterweight bout between former champion Tyron Woodley (19-4-1) and Gilbert Burns (18-3) will headline the card, which is scheduled to air on ESPN and ESPN+.

The location is subject to change until May 27, when the Nevada State Athletic Commission is scheduled to formally vote on reopening the state to combat sports. NSAC officials indefinitely suspended all combat sports in mid-March because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Other notable matchups on the card include a welterweight bout between Kevin Holland (17-5) and Daniel Rodriguez (11-1). Holland, 27, defeated Anthony Hernandez via first-round TKO in Jacksonville, Florida, on May 16. The 14-day turnaround will be tied for the second-shortest break between fights in UFC history.

Women's strawweight prospect Mackenzie Dern (7-1) will make her second appearance since giving birth to her daughter last year. Dern is scheduled to face Hannah Cifers (10-4).

White also addressed the Twitter feud between light heavyweight champ Jon Jones and heavyweight contender Francis Ngannou. Jones has long talked about moving up to heavyweight, but his focus was usually on immediately fighting for the title. After Ngannou's first-round KO of Jairzinho Rozenstruik on May 9, Jones started targeting a fight with Ngannou, and the momentum built until Thursday, when Jones tweeted that negotiations started -- and then ended because the UFC didn't want to pay enough to make the fight happen.

"Obviously, that's a fight people would love to see, and these guys talking a lot of smack back and forth," White said Friday. "I don't see that fight happening."

White also discussed the future of Fight Island, which he's hoping will debut in June.

"We're literally going to knock out 3-4 [cards] there in a month," he said. "And I'm going to stay on the island for a month. I'll probably be there the whole month of July."

The only fight that White has mentioned as being destined for Fight Island is a lightweight unification bout between champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and interim champ Justin Gaethje.
