Forward Blake Griffin underwent surgery Monday on his injured right big toe, the Los Angeles Clippers announced.
Griffin injured the plantar plate of the toe April 21 in Game 3 of the Clippers' first-round playoff series against the Utah Jazz and was ruled out for the rest of the season.
The Jazz ended the Clippers' season on Sunday in Game 7.
Dr. Robert Anderson, a foot and ankle specialist, performed the surgery in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Griffin, 28, missed 18 straight games earlier in the season after undergoing surgery on his right knee. He was the Clippers' leading scorer and second-leading rebounder this season, averaging 21.6 points, 8.1 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game.
He has been plagued by injuries throughout his career, and a quad injury knocked him out of the Clippers' first-round playoff series last season.
He can opt out of his contract this summer and become a free agent.
