Grizzlies, Shelvin Mack progressing in talks on 1-year deal

The Memphis Grizzlies and free-agent guard Shelvin Mack are progressing in talks on a one-year deal, league sources told ESPN.

There's strong momentum toward a deal in the near future, league sources said.

Mack, who played for the Orlando Magic last season, will be starting his eighth NBA season. The Grizzlies are working to strengthen the point guard position behind franchise star Mike Conley.

Mack's best pro season was with Utah in 2015-16, when he averaged 12.7 points and 5.3 assists. He was a second-round pick out of Butler in 2011.
