Dallas Mavericks big man Kristaps Porzingis available for Game 2

Dallas Mavericks big man Kristaps Porzingis will play against the LA Clippers in Wednesday night's Game 2 of their Western Conference first-round series.

Porzingis had been questionable with right knee soreness, then was upgraded to probable before getting the green light to play.

The 7-foot-3 Porzingis missed 10 games in late December and January because of soreness in his right knee. He tore the ACL in his left knee in February 2018 in what ended up being his final game with the New York Knicks and sat out the entire 2018-19 season, when he was traded to Dallas.

Porzingis had 14 points and six rebounds in the Mavs' Game 1 loss Monday before being ejected early in the third quarter, after he was whistled for his second technical foul stemming from a confrontation with Clippers forward Marcus Morris Sr.

Porzingis, who is participating in his first playoff series, averaged 20.4 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game during the regular season. He earned second-team All-Bubble recognition after averaging 30.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks during the seeding schedule at the NBA's Walt Disney World campus in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
