Sources: Pistons add Ryan West to front office

The Detroit Pistons have finalized a deal to hire former Los Angeles Lakers executive Ryan West to a player evaluation role in the front office, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

West and the Lakers mutually agreed to part ways last summer as his contract was up and both sides agreed West had reached a ceiling with the team in the role he'd been in, league sources told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne at the time.

The son of Lakers legend and Hall of Famer Jerry West, Ryan West spent 10 years in the Lakers front office and ascended to the title of director of player personnel.

West joins a Detroit front office that features new general manager Troy Weaver, who was hired in June.
