Two-time All-Star guard Isaiah Thomas has signed a 10-day contract with the Charlotte Hornets, it was announced Wednesday.
The Hornets (30-32) have struggled in recent weeks, losing 11 of 13 games to drop to ninth in the Eastern Conference playoff race.
Thomas, 33, has averaged 41.3 points in three games with the Grand Rapids Gold of the G League in the past week. There have been three 45-point performances in the G League this season, and Thomas has two of them -- including his 46 points on Feb. 26, the most in a league game this season according to ESPN Stats & Information.
Thomas signed 10-day deals with the Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks this season, playing in five total games.
Thomas had All-Star seasons with the Boston Celtics in 2015-16 and '16-17 before a serious hip injury derailed his career. He has spent most of the past two seasons out of the NBA.
