David Roach named Fordham AD

NEW YORK -- David Roach, the former athletic director at Brown and Colgate, has been chosen for the same position at Fordham.

The school made the announcement Wednesday, ending a national search to replace Frank McLaughlin, the athletic director since 1985 who was promoted to associate vice president on July 1.

Roach retired as athletic director at Colgate in July after eight years. Before Colgate, Roach was AD at Brown for 14 years.

He is currently serving on the board of directors and as treasurer of the Black Coaches and Administrators. He served as president of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics in 2010-11. He has also served on several NCAA committees.

Roach was the head swimming coach at Tennessee from 1986-1990 and at Brown from 1978-1986.
