India at Tokyo Olympics on Wednesday: Ravi to compete for gold; Lovlina wins bronze; hockey women, Deepak to fight for bronze

The Indian women's hockey team will face Great Britain in the bronze medal playoff after losing 2-1 to Argentina in their first ever Olympic semifinal on Wednesday at the Tokyo Olympics. Earlier, Lovlina Borgohain has won bronze in the women's welterweight after a loss to Busenaz Surmeneli in their semifinal. Ravi Kumar Dahiya, meanwhile, has entered the final of the men's 57kg wrestling and will compete for gold. Deepak Punia lost his semi and will compete in the bronze medal match.

In the morning, javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra had quite the Olympics debut when he qualified to the final with his first throw. Shivpal Singh couldn't join him.

HOCKEY: Women's Semifinal -- India lost 2-1 to Argentina. India will face Great Britain in the bronze medal match.

WRESTLING: Men's 57kg Semifinal: Ravi Dahiya beat Nurislam Sanayev (Victory by Fall) to enter the final. 

WRESTLING: Men's 86kg Semifinal: Deepak Punia lost David Taylor (By technical superiority), and will play the bronze medal match

GOLF: Women's individual stroke play Round 1, Aditi Ashok is Tied-2nd and Diksha Dagar is Tied-56th

BOXING: Women's welterweight Semifinal: Lovlina Borgohain won bronze after losing to Busenaz Surmeneli (Turkey). 

ATHLETICS: Neeraj Chopra qualified for the men's javelin final with an 86.65m throw on his first attempt. Shivpal Singh out in qualification. 

WRESTLING: Women's 57kg Round-of-16: Anshu Malik lost to Iryna Kurachkina (Belarus)
