Shaun Murphy won the Masters title for the second time in his snooker career on Sunday, earning a 10-7 victory over Kyren Wilson at Alexndra Palace.
Murphy, who last won the title in 2015, has been in scintilating form this week which saw him achieve only the sixth 147 break in the tournament's history in his semifinal win over Mark Allen.
"This is right up there, the win here in 2015 was big to cement my Triple Crown set and join that club but this win is as big if not arguably bigger," Murphy told the BBC.
"The 147 yesterday was one of the biggest moments of my entire life as a snooker player. It's been an incredible week."
The 42-year-old proved too much for Wilson as he made back-to-back century breaks on his way to taking a 6-2 lead following the opening session.
Wilson had a glimmer of home in the evening session, at one point limiting Murphy to just one point in three frames and narrowing the score to 8-7. However, Murphy found his groove again and steered clear to take the Paul Hunter Trophy.
"I just made it too easy for Shaun today," Wilson told the BBC. "I threw him in the balls too many times and you can't do that with how well Shaun's been playing this week.
Murphy's victory was handsomely rewarded, taking home £350,000 in prize money.
The Masters is the second Triple Crown event in snooker calender. The final event -- the season-ending World Snooker Championship -- is scheduled to take place at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield between April 19 and May 5.
