The Dallas Wings' Allisha Gray and Kaela Davis, teammates on South Carolina's national championship team earlier this year, were named to the WNBA's 2017 All-Rookie team Tuesday. The team was chosen by the league's coaches.
Gray, who previously had been named WNBA rookie of the year, was the No. 4 pick by the Wings in April, while Davis was selected at No. 10. The Wings finished 16-18 and lost in the first round of the playoffs.
Also on the rookie team were No. 1 pick Kelsey Plum of San Antonio, No. 6 pick Shatori Walker-Kimbrough of Washington and No. 7 pick Brittney Sykes of Atlanta.
Gray, Plum and Sykes all got the maximum 11 votes from the WNBA's 12 head coaches, who selected five players, regardless of position, and could not vote for anyone on their own team. Davis and Walker-Kimbrough each earned seven votes.
Gray finished second among rookies in scoring (13.0 PPG) and rebounding (3.9 RPG) behind Sykes (13.9, 4.1). Gray led all rookies in steals per game at 1.53. Plum led first-year players in assists (3.4 APG).
