Los Angeles Sparks acquire No. 7 overall pick in WNBA draft from Dallas Wings

The Dallas Wings have traded the No. 7 pick in Thursday's 2021 WNBA draft and a 2022 second-round pick to the Los Angeles Sparks in exchange for the Wings' 2022 first-round selection.

Los Angeles now has five picks in the 2021 draft, including the Nos. 7 and 10 selections in the first round. The Sparks also have the 22nd pick in the second round and Nos. 28 and 34 in the third round.

"Our goal is to continue to build a roster that emphasizes versatility, athleticism and players who can make plays for others and defend multiple positions," Sparks general manager/coach Derek Fisher said. "We believe that this draft has several players who can make an immediate impact and play a role for us. We're excited to acquire the No. 7 pick and have two first-round picks."

Dallas still has four picks among the top 13: Nos. 1, 2, 5 and 13.

The WNBA draft is Thursday on ESPN from 7-9 p.m. ET.
