Three-time winner Allie Quigley headlines the field for WNBA All-Star 3-point contest

Chicago Sky guard Allie Quigley will go for her fourth victory in the WNBA All-Star 3-point shooting contest Saturday (3 p.m. ET, ESPN) at McCormick Place in Chicago.

Quigley was announced Thursday as one of six contestants. She won the title in 2017, 2018 and 2021, and told the crowd in Las Vegas last July, "I promise this is the last time I'll do this. I told myself, 'No more!'"

Since then, the Sky won the 2021 WNBA title and Chicago was awarded the 2022 All-Star Game. So Quigley reconsidered. She will be joined in the contest by No. 1 draft pick Rhyne Howard of Atlanta, Dallas' Arike Ogunbowale, Las Vegas' Kelsey Plum, Seattle's Jewell Loyd and Washington's Ariel Atkins.

Plum currently leads the WNBA in 3-pointers this season with 71 going into the games Thursday.

Quigley, who is from Illinois and played collegiately at DePaul, will have a chance to get the All-Star weekend off to a great start for the Sky. There are four Sky players competing in the game Sunday (1 p.m. ET, ABC) at Wintrust Arena: Kahleah Copper, Emma Meesseman, Candace Parker and Quigley's wife, Courtney Vandersloot.

Parker and Vandersloot are on Team A'ja Wilson, while Copper and Meesseman are on Team Breanna Stewart, which is coached by the Sky's James Wade.

"I'm so excited to be a part of the All-Star weekend in my hometown," Quigley said in a statement. "After winning the event last year I really thought it would be my final time taking part. But the opportunity to compete one more time and to do so in Chicago was too good to pass up."
