Dallas Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale listed as probable for decisive Game 3 vs. Connecticut Sun

Dallas Wings leading scorer Arike Ogunbowale is listed as probable for Wednesday's deciding Game 3 of their WNBA first-round playoff series with the Connecticut Sun. The teams meet at 9 p.m. ET (ESPN) at College Park Center in Arlington, Texas.

Ogunbowale, a 5-foot-8 guard who is averaging 19.7 points, 3.6 assists and 3.3 rebounds, was originally ruled out for the first round by an abdominal injury. However, she has progressed enough to have a chance to play.

The All-Star Game MVP in 2021, Ogunbowale is one of the league's premiere scorers, averaging 19.8 PPG for her four-season career. The 25-year-old was the No. 5 pick in the 2019 WNBA draft out of Notre Dame, which she led to the 2018 national championship.

Injuries have kept Ogunbowale out of all but one of the Wings' past nine games. She had missed two games because of an ankle injury before returning Aug. 6 against Indiana. But in that game, she suffered the abdominal injury and had to be helped off the court.

Still, the Wings were able to clinch their playoff spot without her with a victory on Aug. 8. She had a procedure the Wings described as an iliac crest core muscle avulsion repair on Aug. 9.

After falling 93-68 in their playoff opener at No. 3 seed Connecticut last Thursday, the No. 6 seed Wings bounced back with an 89-79 Game 2 victory Sunday, the franchise's first playoff win since it moved from Detroit in 2009.
