UConn's Paige Bueckers became the fifth freshman to score 100 points in a single women's NCAA tournament, when she hit double digits in the third quarter of the women's Final Four semifinal against Arizona on Friday night.
Bueckers joins Tamika Catchings (111 in 1998), USC's Cheryl Miller (109 in 1983), UConn's Breanna Stewart (104 in 2013) and Texas' Clarissa Davis (103 in 1986), according to Stats Perform.
Bueckers, named the AP Player of the Year earlier this week, had 90 points in this year's tournament going into Friday's game. It took her longer than expected to reach double digits, as she went 1-of-4 for 5 points in the first half and struggled to get any open looks.
