The Tennessee women's basketball team has lost forward/center Keyen Green to an ACL injury, suffered in Sunday's victory over Georgia, and she will miss the rest of this season.
Green, a 6-foot-1 graduate student who played three seasons at Liberty, appeared in all 19 games this season for the No. 4-ranked Lady Vols. She averaged 7.0 points and 3.2 rebounds, and was an emotional leader for Tennessee.
"It is a gut punch to our team," Tennessee coach Kellie Harper told reporters Tuesday. "I hate it for Keyen. She's meant so much to this team. And she will continue to be a great leader for us. But it will just be in a different role."
Green transferred to Tennessee for the 2020-21 season and played four games before suffering a season-ending knee injury in practice in December 2020.
Tennessee, which is a No. 1 seed in Charlie Creme's Bracketology, is 18-1 overall and leads the SEC at 7-0.
