Injured Lion Dakota Davidson to push for GF fitness

Brisbane forward Dakota Davidson has been cleared of serious injury and remains a chance to play in Sunday's AFLW Grand Final against North Melbourne at Ikon Park.

Davidson was inconsolable on the bench after injuring her left knee late in the third quarter of Brisbane's four-point preliminary final win over Geelong.

The 24-year-old received good news on Monday when scans cleared her of any serious injury, but her spot in the decider is still far from assured.

Lions head of women's football Breeanna Brock said Davidson will look to train later in the week to prove her fitness, with the club's medical staff to further assess the injury.

Davidson has kicked a career-best 21 goals this season, with her hot form earning her selection in the AFLW All-Australian squad.

If Davidson is ruled out, star defender Shannon Campbell could be swung forward to fill the void.

Campbell slotted the winning goal against the Cats following Davidson's early exit.

The Lions have qualified for five of the seven grand finals in the competition's history, and are aiming to snare their second flag.
