No. 11 Miami DE Allen Bailey
2009 numbers: He led the Canes with seven sacks and 11 tackles for loss. He led all Miami defensive linemen with 34 tackles and ranked fourth in the ACC with .58 sacks per game.
Most recent ranking: Not ranked.
Making the case for Bailey: The former defensive tackle is entering his first full season playing end, but he has experience at both positions and should be one of the best pass-rushers in the conference. He's an extremely strong, gifted athlete who, according to the Palm Beach Post, power cleans 400 pounds, squats 570 pounds and bench-presses 405. He was named the team's Strength Training Athlete of the Year at the team's awards banquet in December. Miami hasn't had a defensive end record double-digit sacks in a season since 2006, but if Bailey remains healthy and can stay consistent, he should end that drought.
