Big 12 recruiting scorecard: TCU lands another ESPN 300 standout

Here's what's new on the Big 12 recruiting trail entering Week 10:

BAYLOR

Total commits: 15

ESPN 300 commits: 6

The latest: Baylor are reportedly trying to make a move for DE Mark Jackson, the ESPN 300 standout from Cibolo (Texas) Steele. Jackson has been committed to Texas A&M since the end of May. Considering the Bears only have one defensive end commit and are losing senior ends Shawn Oakman and Jamal Palmer, going after a flip from Jackson makes sense.

IOWA STATE

Total commits: 10

ESPN 300 commits: 0

The latest: Soon after its upset of Texas, Iowa State received a commitment from junior college TE Clifford Fernandez. The 6-foot-5, 265-pound pass-catcher out of Southwest Mississippi C.C. visited for the win over the Longhorns and delivered his commitment to Paul Rhoads on Sunday morning. He can play a variety of roles in ISU's offense.

KANSAS

Total commits: 10

ESPN 300 commits: 0

The latest: Kansas had one of its top commits, cornerback Kyle Mayberry, in for a visit this weekend for the Oklahoma game. Mayberry says he's still 100 percent solid with the Jayhawks despite taking a recent trip to Kansas State. He'll take an official visit to KU after the season and should contribute early in his career.

KANSAS STATE

Total commits: 11

ESPN 300 commits: 0

The latest: Three-star defensive end Isaiaah Loudermilk currently has Kansas State and Wisconsin at the top of his list, with Oklahoma State right there behind those favorites from his impressive list of offers. He's hoping to take an official visit to K-State soon and is expected to take one to Oregon later this month.

OKLAHOMA

Total commits: 12

ESPN 300 commits: 3

The latest: Oklahoma was already in great shape with its quarterback situation for the near future, but here's some more good news: ESPN 300 commit Austin Kendall signed his financial aid papers last week and will join the program in January. The Sooners got another early enrollee officially on board Sunday when three-star S Chanse Sylvie signed his papers, too.

OKLAHOMA STATE

Total commits: 15

ESPN 300 commits: 0

The latest: Oklahoma State is already in great shape for one of the top recruits in the 2017 class: ESPN Junior 300 receiver Keldrick Carper. The No. 253 overall ranked recruit recently visited Stillwater and was impressed by what he saw and the pitch he got from quarterback commit Nick Starkel. It's still early, but the Cowboys are now No. 1 on Carper's list ahead of Mississippi State.

TCU

Total commits: 16

ESPN 300 commits: 7

The latest: The rich got richer on Friday. TCU added another ESPN 300 talent to its already impressive recruiting class when receiver Isaiah Graham announced he's going to be a Horned Frog. Graham is the No. 2 receiver prospect in Louisiana and the nation's No. 108 overall recruit. He picked TCU over Arkansas and Tennessee and had actually made a silent commitment to the staff right after his official visit.

TEXAS

Total commits: 9

ESPN 300 commits: 3

The latest: The Longhorns might be in danger of losing ESPN 300 receiver commit Tren'Davian Dickson. He recently visited Oklahoma, reached out to Baylor and has yet to sign his financial aid papers with Texas and follow through with his plan to enroll early. Baylor likely doesn't have a spot for him at the moment, and Dickson says he's done taking visits, but you can call him a soft commit at this point.

TEXAS TECH

Total commits: 24

ESPN 300 commits: 0

The latest: Texas Tech added a long-anticipated commitment last week from linebacker/safety Kevin Moore out of Louisiana. He took an official visit to Lubbock at the start of the season, is close with LB commit Johnathan Picone and felt at home in the Red Raiders' program. Moore had Arizona State, Oklahoma State, Texas and Louisiana-Lafayette in his top five prior to his pledge.

WEST VIRGINIA

Total commits: 20

ESPN 300 commits: 1

The latest: The Mountaineers are expected to receive an official visit from four-star Florida State LB commit Emmett Rice this weekend when they host Texas Tech. Rice has been committed to the Seminoles since February but is taking this trip and likely a few more to evaluate his options. He'd likely be an instant-impact get if he does end up in Morgantown.
