Striker: 'I'm an old soul' (1:23)

Oklahoma LB Eric Striker sits down with Marty Smith to play finger football, as well as share his thoughts on today's media landscape. (1:23)

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- Oklahoma linebacker Eric Striker has an opinion on just about everything, and he's not afraid to share it. So it is easy to see why he earned media day MVP honors Tuesday in the run-up to the College Football Playoff semifinal at the Capital One Orange Bowl.

Striker held court on a wide variety of topics, from music to movies to chocolate-covered gummy bears. Here is just a sampling:

On his looks: "You looking for some entertainment? You know I'm good at entertaining. I try to make it a good time. We don't have to talk about football. Let's talk about my beauty real quick. I think it's natural. You can't buy this beauty. I came out the womb looking this beautiful."

On being old school: "I love the Temptations. I'm an old type of guy. Fell in love with the Temptations. From there I fell in love with Motown. Now I love everybody. I love Ray Charles. I fell in love with the classic R&B, Motown, before I fell in love with hip-hop. Everything was about love back then. Now everything's about I got this woman, I'm pimpin'. ... "Papa Was a Rolling Stone" is probably my favorite song. The instruments on the song, boom boom, and they know it's a funky beat and they play it for two minutes before they even start singing. You fall in love with the instrumental. I love old song. I was just showing Coach [Tim] Kish. Coach Kish is like, 'You don't know nothing about it.' I had the O'Jays going on the bus."

On speaking out about the racist chant an Oklahoma fraternity was caught on tape signing: "What happened last spring, you want to step up for it. What you do is you step up and you speak out. A lot of people who don't have the stage to speak out, you're an inspiration to them. Had people from France hit me up, people from Germany hit me up, email, Snapchat that really loved what I did. I had more positive reaction than negative reaction."

On beach day for Oklahoma during its stay in South Florida: "I don't like saltwater. I know I'm from Florida, but I don't really like the beach. Saltwater gets in my eyes, gets in my mouth, my nose. Sand gets everywhere. I've got to take 15 showers just to get the sand out. It's a big mess. I don't like the beach. ... Sharks, too. You risk going out there!"

On how much he loves candy: "Have you ever had chocolate-covered gummy bears? I don't know how heaven tastes, but I'm sure it's close."

Reporter: "South Beach, that's gotta be like heaven, right?"

ES: I don't know about that. Y'all charged my teammates $43 for a burger. I don't know if that's heaven. I'm thinking heaven, Jesus championed the poor, the meek shall inherit the earth. I don't know about a $43 cheeseburger. That's just too much!"

On who would play him in a movie: "I like the movies that have a lesson in it. My favorite movie is between 'The Green Mile' and 'Saving Private Ryan.' Really both connect to your heart. You get attached to the films. I like Spike Lee joints. I watch Spike Lee movies all the time. I am looking forward to, I don't know if they're going to make a movie. Hopefully a nice, handsome guy will play me."

Reporter: "Why don't you just play yourself?"

ES: "I could play myself. I think I'm good for the acting thing. But I may be kidding myself. It could be tougher than I think. If y'all know Spike Lee, tell him I'm trying to get in his next movie."
